2. Course Objectives and Description
  Molecular biology is a vibrant, experimental science that attempts to explain the living world at the level of the molecules. The general objective of this course is to provide an overview of modern molecular biology and to familiarize students with the utilization of modern molecular techniques to investigate and understand biology at the molecular level. The general theme of this course will be eukaryotic gene structure, expression, regulation, and analysis. Emphasis will be placed both on a description of our current understanding of gene expression and methods used to study gene expression.
